Rachel founded Koalas of NYC global movement where she revealed a rare juxtaposition between a representation of iconic Australian wildlife and the concrete jungle of New York City by placing plush koalas in prominent locations all over New York City in an effort to raise awareness around the fatal bushfires that had ravaged Australia in Summer 2019/2020. Rachel led this project from concept to execution in only 72 hours and went viral in less than a month.
Koalas of NYC took the world by storm. With over 150 cities participating, a donation target exceeded by over 400%, features in 152 news outlets and over 1.9 billion people reached, Koalas of NYC became a universal symbol of compassion to save the world's most unique animals. Koalas of NYC has been recognized by world-renowned award authorities including AdAge, AdWeek,The One Show and Communication Arts.
